thank god you're doing this, I hate the current Yahoo logo. #1 I think looks the best, but try all designs with the ! inside the circle. Great work.

I like number 3. I think its cool how they are both enclosed with in the circle it give it a nice feel in my opinion. I think it would be nicer if the y was a little more curved to go with the curved of the circle but otherwise its very nice.

Hi Shannon! I never noticed that about the Yahoo logo, but now that you pointed that out, it completely makes sense. I love how you want to re-design this logo to make it better and achieve the goal of "playfulness" that it almost achieved. I agree with Becky when she asked if there was another format than just the "Y" in a circle to truly express what Yahoo is. I was thinking you could switch the circle to a rectangle logo and make it like a mail format. If you do that, you could use sketch #5 or sketch #4 and put it on the mail logo. I think that would be playful, and communicate the message of Yahoo effectively. Great job!

Hi Shannon, I really like where you are going with your designs- the Yahoo logo has always bothered me, too! Two things to think about: 1. It would be cool if you used the logos/style of a specific designer to inspire your work, and 2. you might even explore other alternatives to just fixing the serifs. Is there a better format than just the "Y" in a circle for expressing what Yahoo is all about?

Hi Shannon, love the idea to update the Yahoo logo! The serifs definitely detract from the quality of the logo. I especially like your fifth and first logo because they both use a lowercase y which I think stands out better with a sans serif font. I think the one improvement you could make is making the exclamation point more rectangular to match the y but other than that great job! Keep it up!

Hey Shannon, great job so far! My favorite of your sketches is number 1. I like your idea of using a lowercase "y" to make the design more playful and relaxed. I also like how you make the exclamation point more rounded in your sketches than it is in the actual design. That really adds to the playfulness. I would suggest playing around with colors when you make your final design.

Hi, Shannon! I really like that your idea of editing the Yahoo! logo originated from your studying it and coming to the conclusion that the serifs make it less playful by using what we've learned in this course. I think that you should probably stick to using a capital "Y" since it still shows some formality and professionalism that Yahoo! would want to show its users. I also think that one way you could make this more playful is by adding more circles or other shapes to the design. Overall, I think the idea and the sketches are great!
